Lycée du Bois d'Amour is an upper secondary school situated in the outskirts of Poitiers, a university town in western France nearby the Atlantic Ocean with about 100, 000 inhabitants. There are 90 teachers working in the school for approximately 1100 students who are aged between 15 and 18 and mostly from surrounding villages. Some 170 students have chosen programmes that are not offered in other schools in the area.which is the reason why they stay in boarding school.
An important aspect of our school is its cultural and European opening. All students learn two or three foreign languages such as English, Spanish, German and/or Italian. Some also specialise in drama or history of arts. A broad range of cultural projects is carried out every year. One of the most important events is the “cultural week” during which the students express their different talents (drama, dancing, exhibitions or cultural workshops).
